Please join us in welcoming Mr. Braxton Winston, at-large member from the City of Charlotte. He will be speaking on various topics to help up gain valuable information and understanding of the City Council’s role and responsibilities in the city government.  As well, as providing pertinent information regarding current city issues that may effect our businesses, clients and customers.  

Braxton Winston, a democrat, was elected in 2017 as an at-large member and is serving his first term on council.

He recently began working at the Levine Museum of the New South as their Community Connections Manager, engaging the community by capturing Charlotte’s history in interactive and narrative ways. Winston is also a stagehand and grip and a member of Charlotte’s thriving sports television and entertainment production community. He is a proud member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Union. 

Winston is also an influential citizen-journalist, producing stories not covered by traditional media outlets and employing new models of citizen engagement. 

Winston holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Davidson College, where he was a two-time letterman on the football team.
